Meet the Society!

The McMaster Neuroscience Society (MNS) is a student run organization that is committed to enhancing the neuroscience program experience for each student. The MNS gives the opportunity to all of its executive members to work in collaboration to organize academic and social events that embody the interests of neuroscience students. We hope to spread the word about this program to the McMaster community and illustrate the integrative nature of this field that fosters innovative and fascinating neuroscience research.

AJ Parkin, Co-President

Hey guys! My name is AJ Parkin and I will be serving as this year’s co-president of the McMaster Neuroscience Society alongside Vivian. I am going into my fourth year of the Honours Neuroscience Program and will be completing my thesis in Dr. Nelson’s Neurophysiology and Neuroimaging Lab under the Department of Kinesiology. The lab covers all sorts of neural aspects for the upper and lower limbs and has promising applications in helping rehabilitate stroke patients. When I’m not geeking out about brains, I love to workout, play guitar hero and boardgames with my friends and try my best at catching them all in Pokémon Go! You can catch me around campus in DBAC/IWC or Mills and if you do feel free to say hi or even message me about any and all questions you have 😊. Cheers!
